wimbledon...

as most of you know, i'm big into tennis. my favorite tournament is wimbledon. it's sort of like the super bowl in my family, because my mom used to play competitive tennis all the time. at some point she was number one in the southeast in doubles with her bff, paula. i'm bragging, i know, but when you're mom is a BA in tennis, or was, sometimes you just have to let it be known. anyways, i've been watching wimbledon and it's awesome. i get the twitter updates on my phone so i always know the scores and anything exciting that happens. i also got the wimbledon app on my ipod touch so i can watch highlight videos and see the breakdown and schedule of upcoming matches. technology is amazing. did i also mention that we have a channel on directTV that shows six matches going on at once so you never miss a shot!? it's sweeeeet.

here is my prediction. federer is going to make it to the final. that is a given. who his opponent will be? i don't know. andy roddick and lleyton hewitt play tomorrow and i'm anxious to see who wins that one. if roddick doesn't win, i'm pretty sure he will be retiring soon. he's 26 and hewitt is 28. in tennis, their game is on a downhill slope to never be as good as they used to be. granted, federer is 27 and the king of tennis, but he's a machine, so that rule doesn't even apply to him. anyways, i'm hoping roddick can pull through and beat hewitt. the other two matches for the men's quarterfinals is haas and djokovic, i'm predicting an easy win by djokovic. haas is an oldie too, and the younger guys can usually defeat the older fellas no problem. then there's murray and ferrero. i'm praying he can beat ferrero. i doubt he could beat federer in the final, but it would be quite the upset, to beat the king of grass from his 15th history making grand slam title to be the first home grown champion from great britain to win wimbledon in over 70 years. now that would be an epic final. i chance my mind. all predictions out. i'm hoping murray and federer play in the final.
