longest post ever...
so, i will, in this post, summarize the best parts of the trip to orlando...
1) we get to the columbia airport and are going through the metal detectors. i got in the slow line, apparently, and the rest of the family got in the faster one, so i was getting my stuff together when michael went through. they had to wave that thing over him because something on him was causing it to go off. everytime they would wave it over his crotch, it would beep. daddy and laura were standing off to the side watching and daddy says, really loud "ugh, michael, did you bring your metal penis?!?!" a man passed by him right when he said it and looked at him in shock. it was quite possibly one of the funniest parts of the trip, and it was at the very beginning.
2) we got caricatures done of the family to put on the family wall at my daddy's house...and they look like this...
4) we drove around in two white toyota corollas, which daddy nicknamed "the go-carts" and every time he drove it, he would speed up on turns and hug the curb like he was in a race. annette's corolla was automatic everything...daddy's was manual everything. manual windows, locks, you name it. what a fun car that was!
5) evie and gary came with us. they drove down from south carolina instead of flying. evie is syd's grandma and gary is syd's step-grandpa but she calls him pops. he tries to be funny like daddy, but it never works and we stare at him. poor guy. evie is obsessed with food and relates everything to it. every meal, she would have to say "this is delicious" after almost every bit. she also has a long, drawn out laugh that goes on for an awkward amount of time. the step-family is exhausting. it's hard to be social with people like this. i mean, really.
6) annette yelled alot. like a whoooole bunch. she said GD, slammed cabinets, slammed doors, pouted, and yelled. it was crazy and childish, but oh well. thank god that's over.
7) orlando studios is boring if you want super big thrill rides. islands of adventure has doctor doom, the hulk, and dueling dragons. those were fun. it also has a bunch of water rides, which we enjoyed because it was so effing hot down there.
8) magic kingdom is one of my favorite places on earth. why, do you ask? well, my friends, because of space mountain of course. both times we rode it, there were technical difficulties right before we got on. the second time, we had to sit in the rocket for ten minutes. when there are technical difficulties, they have to turn on all the lights on the inside of the mountain. it ruins the magic. ugh. it is still the best ride ever though. the first time we rode it, the order was laura, me, michael, annette, syd, and daddy, because the rocket holds six in a single line. i laughed the entire time because laura had this high pitched noise coming out of her mouth and that combined with the ups, downs, and curves of space mountain, i lost it. toward the end of the ride, i couldn't breathe. i was in tears. i got off and couldn't stop laughing/gasping for air. it was the best/worst feeling in the world. haha. so much fun!
9) we rode the indy car ride. it's this go-cart type of track, but for little kids and their parents so you are stuck on a track and the only control you have over it is how fast you go. i rode with laura. sydney is finally tall enough to ride all the rides on her own so she drove by herself. well, the pedals were super tough to hold down and there was no brake. the gas was the gas and brake. it was funny because you had to push it down real hard to go and if you let up even a little, it would slam on the brakes. laura and i had fun with that, as seen in one of the videos in the previous post (one of the silent ones). sydney couldn't press her pedal down to go, so from beginning to end, she caused like a ten car back up. it was hilarious and i laughed at her even though she was crying when she finally finished, and i don't care if you get mad at me for that cause it was funny!
10) a mentally challenged individual grabbed my butt while passing and going the opposite direction on the bridge near splash mountain. not a slight tap or a brisk touching, a full on "grab a handfull" grab. it happened and i turned around shocked and said "what is going on? i thought disney world was full of good, wholesome people!?" i told laura and she was like "ugh, what!?" i told daddy and he says "huhuh. that's what annette must think when i do that to her."
11) there was no budget, and that was probably the greatest part. anything we wanted, daddy bought us, which wasn't much because we don't ever ask for anything, but let me tell you, we were fully hydrated and fed the entire time. it is so much better with lots of money rather than counting pennies and making a 24oz bottle of water last all day.
13) last but not least, the plane rides...i love planes. they are exciting! if you don't believe in god after flying in an airplane, there is something wrong with you. you get a taste of how big everything really is when you're up there in the air and i absolutely ate it up! i stared out the window the whole time. takeoffs and landings are like rollercoasters...and i LOVE rollercoasters. :)
so that is all for my vacation to the wondrous orlando, florida where everything is over-the-top and everywhere you go it's humid and scorching hot. it tops the list for favorite vacations. i wanna do it again!
