for my latest web design project, i chose the job of making an intangible product site. this site will be a place to download a media organization application, like itunes, but for pictures too. imagine if iphoto and itunes were one application, and that's what dome is. i chose to name the application dome because at first i thought of combining the words "digital media" into "dime", yet that evolved into naming it "dome", to encompass more of what the product is used for...to house all of a users digital media in one place, enabling easier sharing and organization. to start out, jane suggested i research the geodesic dome and buckninster fuller, who designed it. the geodesic dome is made up of hexagons and underlying triangles. the huge dome at epcot is an example of this, so i looked up scientific stuff and pictures and all. i came up with these three quick brands. i'm leaning more toward the hexagon one. it's more interesting than the other two. plus, it's a more concrete concept that is easily seen through the letterforms.
