2010...

so, here it is, my annual recap post. 2010 was a blur. in every sense of the word. i can't believe it's time to gear up for my last semester of college (to end my six year string). it's surreal to think this year has come and that i am 24 years old. here goes...

i started off 2010 by seeing the avett brothers play in asheville, nc with jen, johnny, and isabel. that clearly set the stage for an awesome year. it's too bad i couldn't do it again this year.

i then got to spend time with my dear friend, katie garth. she's an inspiration in my life and i need to see her again soon! this summer, i shall fly out to madison, wi to see her beautiful face again.

i had some delirious times in the lab. what's new?

i got a fixed gear bike and painted it cmyk. i still can't skid that well yet.

i made some amazing friends. thanks 503.

went to new york city for spring break with a pretty sweet group of friends. we had the time of our lives exploring the city. i can't wait to go back!

two of my professors. speaker and jane. not sure if my head would still be screwed on if i didn't have them in my life. especially after this past year.

i was on the today show. no biggie.

saw vampire weekend in atlanta. amaaaaziiiiing!

had phil's birthday dinner (dessert) at devreaux's...fancy.

took a spontaneously stupid trip to charleston at 11pm at night. best memories of the semester.

lived in 503. the one place i took for granted most of the time i lived there. i wish i could go back to that nasty house and the blue dream land every day now. especially because everything around me is changing so much. that house was one of the most influential times in my life.

mother's day. i love my step-family.

kate came with us to our hilton head beach trip. same condo as when we were little kids. i loved that vacation.

rode my bike around greenville with other bike enthusiasts. most exhausting day of my life, but it was well worth it.

i went to gatorland.

tank beanie weenie party. welcome back to school!

my friend, hannah, got married. this was at her bridal shower. i will never wear a matching or bedazzled anything ever again. only for her.

went to the columbia art museum for ceramics. acted like children.

on hannah's wedding night. i still can't believe it...and that hair do is called the "kelly clarkson."

for labor day, we went to chau ram park. to play in the waterfalls and pretend we were indian natives. awesome.

i said goodbye to my best friends, jen, chelsea, and chris...as they embarked on a journey of a lifetime to australia. it was the strangest three months of my life to have them leave, especially jen, who is my sister. it sucked adjusting to their absence and it's still a little difficult getting used to them being back, but words can't describe how happy i am that they got to experience australia...but even more how happy i am to have them back in my life again.

frisbee team of 2010: beard team usa. our record: we lost all but one.

went on many photo adventures. perfecting my photography skillz.

made some other friendships stronger. paige and haley (and kate). tuesday night bible studies are easily my favorite nights of every week. i can't wait to get those up and running again. these ladies are an incredible encouragement.

hiked to falls creek falls for my mom's birthday weekend. we were pooped until we got to the waterfall...then we were all happy.

i was taylor swift for halloween.

my roommates became my brothers.

i messed up my hair...and had to go brunette again. traumatic experience, for sure...that's why it's included.

survived graphic design 3. spent five straight nights in the lab up until our final critique. i about drove myself crazy, but i enjoyed every bit of the process. i've got the coolest job ever. i mean, how could you not love delirious nights spent in the design lab!?

made a new friend, naomi...who made me this shirt. oh, she knows how to go straight to my heart. my bike...on a shirt!

we had to sell our childhood home. as sad as it is, it's a part of life, and if i've learned anything from this year, it's that change is inevitable, whether i like it or not. it's how i adapt to those changes, major or subtle, that makes me who i am, and will ultimately shape me into a much wiser person one day.

had christmas in greer. i love my family.

had our first white christmas and reverted back to childhood by making a happy (yet creepy) snowman.

made the best friends of my life. to you all...jen, chelsea, philip, jivan, lauren, johnny, ryan, paige, haley, kate, bailey, chri, mary lindsey, laura, wes, andrew, ali, kolby, cameron, and chris...you guys are awesome. your presence in my life means more to me than you will ever know and i am grateful every day for each and every one of you.

every single one of the people i have in my life inspire me and keep me laughing every day, week, and month of every year. the coolest thing is to have a community of amazing people in my life and i'm not sure how my life would be without all of you. thank you!!!
